Tessa Snyder was diagnosed with bone cancer when she was 11

Despite being so young, she was presented with a difficult proposition of getting her leg amputated

“School with a prosthetic was difficult”

“When I was in my teen years that’s when I had the most difficulty liking my prosthetic”

“I felt different to everyone else”

“I felt out of place and like I wouldn’t be accepted or have any friends”

The mother of two said it took her almost 20 years to fully accept her prosthesis

“There are days when I don’t want to wear it or days when it hurts, and it gives me sores”

“But one thing I realised is that I couldn’t keep living my life hating something that I couldn’t change”

“My prosthetic is a part of me and it’s who I am”

“It gives me the ability to take me places I want to go and to be able to experience life with my children and partner”

“I love that at almost 30-years-old I feel more beautiful and sexier than ever”
