Directed by James Mangold (Logan), this is a biopic of the battle between Ford and Ferrari to win the Le Mans. Starring Christian Bale as British driver Ken Miles and Matt Damon as the legendary Carroll Shelby, as they try to build a car to defeat Ferrari.

This indie neo-noir film comes from the same fucked up mind that brought us It Follows, and stars Andrew Garfield as a man looking for the truth behind the mysterious crimes and disappearances in his East L.A. neighbourhood. Think a cross between Chinatown, Mulholland Drive & The Long Goodbye.

There’s not a lot known about this film yet, but as a Canadian who grew up in the 90’s, I loved this show to death. The film has one of the writers of the fucking fantastic IT and will be directed by D.J. Caruso (Disturbia, xXx: Return of Xander Cage).

This action-thriller pairs Will Smith with Ang Lee. Smith plays an assassin who’s suddenly targeted by a young operative who can predict his every move. With the cast rounded out by Clive Owen, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Benedict Wong, I’m excited by the potential of this one.

This mysterious project is from Sam Mendes and will be set in 1917 during World War I. This is an original story, and there’s literally nothing known about it, but when you combine Mendes’ talent with the subject matter, only good things can happen.

This is the first part of YA trilogy of books, and will star Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley. The story involves a dystopian future where no women have survived a pandemic, and people can read each other’s minds. Normally, I’m not into the YA films, but this one is being directed by Doug Liman, so there’s some potential.
Rambo V: Last Blood

Technically, not really an under the radar film, but I haven’t seen it on a list here yet. This final film will wrap up John Rambo’s tragic story when he travels to Mexico to save a friend’s daughter from the Cartel. Rumours suggest it’ll be less like Part IV, and more like the first film; tragic, personal, and introspective.

Coming from James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez, I can’t wait for this one. There’s been some debate on the idea of whitewashing an anime character, the overuse of CGI in the film, etc.. but when two of my favourite directors collaborate, I’ll be the first in line.

This James Gunn-produced film basically asks what would have happened if Superman turned evil? When a couple find and adapts an alien baby, they try to raise him right, until the darkness within unleashes. I’m too intrigued to continue.

Given the absolute shit that the previous 3 films were, this is a chance for James Cameron to course-correct with the help of Tim Miller (Deadpool). Dunno what it’s about, all I know is that it’s gonna continue on from T2. That’s all I need to know.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw

This one is definitely not under the radar, but no one’s talking about it for some reason. This spinoff stars Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in a team up against a villain played by Idris Elba. Given that it’ll be directed by John Wick & Deadpool 2’s David Leitch, expect this one to be bonkers.
